Our Commitment
We are committed to making DashDashBoom accessible to as many people as possible. We work to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards where applicable to our mobile app and website.
Accessibility in DashDashBoom
DashDashBoom is designed around voice and audio, which means many parts of the experience are naturally accessible without needing to look at or touch the screen.
- Voice-first, hands-free gameplay. Players claim targets by speaking, not touching the screen. No screen interaction is required during active gameplay.
- Tap-to-claim option. For players who prefer not to use voice, a manual tap button is available as an alternative.
- iOS accessibility support. The app is built with SwiftUI and works with Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, bold text, and increased contrast settings.
- Accessible website. Our website uses semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy, ARIA landmarks, skip navigation, and sufficient color contrast.
How the Game Works
DashDashBoom is a car scavenger hunt where players spot real-world objects from the car window and announce their finds by voice. The AI host delivers targets and commentary through audio, with target information also displayed on screen. The game is designed to be played by passengers and drivers alike, with no need to look at or handle the phone during gameplay.
Apple Accessibility Features
DashDashBoom is built natively for iOS and works with Apple's built-in accessibility features, including:
- VoiceOver (gesture-based screen reader)
- Zoom and Display & Text Size customization
- AssistiveTouch and Switch Control
- Spoken Content options
- Reduce Motion preferences
- Hearing aid and Bluetooth audio device support
To enable these features, go to Settings → Accessibility on your iPhone. Learn more at apple.com/accessibility.
We Are Always Improving
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are actively working on:
- Expanding VoiceOver support across all app screens
- Adding visual indicators to complement audio feedback
- Testing with assistive technology users to identify opportunities
